Stuck at home can be a little difficult right now, am I right? When we’re surrounded by food and lack of structure in our days – sweet treats can be easy to reach for, and to eat too much of… and then we don’t feel good!
Yogurt is such an amazing snack to give you that slightly sweet taste with some high-quality protein packed in.
I’m so excited to partner with Two Good to bring you this post today! If you’ve been watching my Stories on Instagram, you know I often eat Two Good yogurt http://www.goodyogurt.com/lower-sugar-yogurt/ for a snack – their Greek yogurts have 80% less sugar than average Greek yogurts,* because they’re made with a unique slow straining process that removes sugar from the milk, leaving 2g of total sugar in each 5.3oz cup. They come in 10 flavors and also have plain, of course!
Here is a fun way to spice up your snacks during the week. I’ll show you the steps to create a whole bar for you & others in your home to mix & match, but you can of course just make one serving parfait for yourself if you prefer!
*Two Good: 2g total sugar per 5.3oz. Average Greek yogurt: 11g sugar per 5.3oz.
How to Build an At-Home Yogurt Bar
Step 1: Make a Plan
Don’t move onto Step 2 without doing this! Planning is crucial to ease your stress & to help you make sure you don’t forget any ingredients. Plan for:
How many flavors of yogurt you want, and how much of each you’ll need
How many fruit toppings you want, and how much of each you’ll need
How many crunchy toppings you want, and how much of each you’ll need
Here are some ideas – but you really can’t go wrong here!
Strawberry Supreme Yogurt Parfait
Ingredients per serving:
1 Two Good Greek Strawberry Lowfat Yogurt
1/2 cup strawberries
1 tsp chia seeds
2 Tbsp seeds
Mixed Berry with Coconut Yogurt Parfait
Ingredients per serving:
1 Two Good Greek Mixed Berry Lowfat Yogurt
2 Tbsp cranberries
1 Tbsp coconut flakes
1/4 cup nuts
Vanilla Blueberry Yogurt Parfait
Ingredients per serving:
1 Two Good Greek Mixed Berry Lowfat Yogurt
1 Tbsp chocolate chips
1/2 cup blueberries
1 Tbsp peanut butter
Step 2: Get Your Supplies Ready
You can either build your parfait in its own bowl, or you can add your ingredients to the yogurt cup. I’m pretty lazy so I usually just pile my toppings onto my yogurt cup! Just be careful of spillage.
If you want to use a bowl, try to use smaller ones so that your parfait fills up the space. Try to not use one that’s larger than 2 cups (16 oz).
Also get your:
labels (you can just fold over pieces of paper),
bowls for the toppings, and
spoons for the toppings
Step 3. Buy the Ingredients
Head to the grocery store with your list & get your ingredients!
Step 4. Set It Up!
Don’t put your ingredients out too early – set them up in their bowls and then back into the refrigerator until 15-20 minutes before people are ready to eat. When labeling your ingredients, make sure to include whether or not a topping has nut, grain or other possible allergens.
